Who we are

MarketWatch Intel Pte. Ltd. (Singapore Co. Reg. No. 202014918K) and MarketWatch Intel UK Ltd. (Companies House 12480192) operate marketwatchintel.io. For the purposes of UK GDPR and Singapore's PDPA 2012, MarketWatch Intel UK Ltd. is the controller for UK and EU customer relationships and MarketWatch Intel Pte. Ltd. is the controller for APAC and rest-of-world customer relationships.

What we collect

Account contacts (name, work email, role); billing details (company name, billing address, VAT/GST registration where applicable, card last-four via Stripe); product configuration (tracked competitor URLs, custom rule thresholds, voice-profile preferences); usage telemetry (last login, most recent brief opened, feature engagement); and your inbound communications with our support and sales teams.

What we do not collect

Your customer database. Your SKU catalogue. Your sales numbers. Your marketing spend. Your CRM data. The Compass agent does not have any read access to data you hold internally — it only reads the public competitor signals we collect on your behalf and the configuration you have set in your account.

Lawful basis (UK / EU customers)

• Performance of contract — to deliver the service you have engaged us for.
• Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve the service. You have a right to object; contact us at privacy@marketwatchintel.io.
• Consent — for our newsletter and any marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link.
• Legal obligation — for billing, tax and regulatory record-keeping.

Retention

Account and configuration data: held for the duration of the contract plus 7 years for UK and EU billing records (7-year retention is HMRC and Irish Revenue requirement). Usage telemetry: 24 months rolling. Compass run audit log: 200-entry rolling buffer per customer (we do not retain longer).

See the Security page for the current sub-processor list. We notify customers at least 30 days before any addition or material change.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK), the IDA (Ireland), the PDPC (Singapore), or your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@marketwatchintel.io. We respond within 30 days.

International transfers

Where data crosses jurisdictional boundaries — for example, a Singapore-issued brief delivered to a London inbox — we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (2021/914) and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
